Ønskeskyen has become GoWish abroad and is on its way to 1.5 million users in the U.S. alone. CEO Casper Ravn-Sørensen and CCO Morten Bjørn Mortensen reflect on Ønskeskyen/GoWish’s biggest achievements throughout 2023.
With an entirely new app, we started the year by launching Ønskeskyen abroad under our international name, GoWish. Since then, GoWish has reached nearly 2.4 million international users.
“GoWish has been received by users worldwide in a way that has exceeded our expectations. We are on our way to 1.5 million American users, and with that, we have managed to end up on the App Store’s list of the most downloaded lifestyle apps in the U.S. – in fact, GoWish has been ranked number 1 on the list. We are proud to have achieved this in just a few months,” says CEO Casper Ravn-Sørensen.
Ønskeskyen/GoWish is also gaining recognition in the Nordics and other European countries. The app has reached third and fourth place on the App Store’s overall list of most downloaded apps in Norway and Sweden and has ranked as the number 1 lifestyle app on several occasions in both our Nordic neighbors and the UK. Meanwhile, GoWish has been number 1 for nearly all relevant search terms related to “wish” or “wishlist” in our nine core international markets.
The App Store rankings are not the only highlights of the past year. As of now, Ønskeskyen/GoWish has surpassed a total of 5 million users worldwide, and in 2023 alone, 93,772,530 wishes and 5,051,073 wishlists have been created in the system.
“In November alone, we gained 1.1 million new users across Denmark and abroad. It’s amazing to consider just how big that number is,” says CCO Morten Bjørn Mortensen.
This past fall, we have experienced significant activity on Ønskeskyen/GoWish. During Black Week, nearly 5 million wishes were created, and there were 11,662,643 outbound clicks from the platform to Danish webshops, with an average basket size of DKK 431.
“We know that this time of year is our busiest, with incredible activity from our users. It is always crucial for us that our platform is never down, especially during this period when we experience so much traffic. We are very pleased that our app withstood the test of time during Black Week and that all users were met with a top-performing and well-functioning app,” says Casper Ravn-Sørensen.
